Vans for Volunteers

The non-profit association iHELP Kassel e.V. has been involved in helping refugees since March 2022.

We organize humanitarian aid transports, help with housing search and furnishing, organize workshops and intercultural festivals, and we also maintain a counseling and meeting center which is open 5 out of 7 days a week.

For all the aforementioned activities - but especially for relief transports and the collection of furniture from household liquidations and furniture donations and the furnishing of living space as well as the logistics for our association location, we urgently need a van.

We think that at the beginning of the furnishing of living space not everything has to be bought new - often there is no other possibility to furnish the living space other than by donated furnishings due to lack of financial means. We have been helping refugees with this since March 2022 - mostly with private vehicles driven by volunteers. Already with regard to liability risks, this cannot and must not remain so.

We are therefore in urgent need of a van that can be sent to the volunteer teams for furnishing apartments and for humanitarian transports to crisis regions.

For this we have calculated costs of about 10.000,00 EUR, of which we want to finance about 5.000,00 EUR by already collected donations. The remainder is to be realized by present donation campaign.

We have only one requirement for the transporter: it should be roadworthy and remain with us for a while. We have received a promise from a local automotive engineering company to take over the maintenance at cost price.

We hope to further expand our association's activities in order to be able to help refugees even better!
