The Inner Green Deal addresses the human dimension of sustainability. We transform hearts and minds to accelerate a green and just transformation. Our programmes are recognised by the EU and are integrated in the standard training offering to EU staff.
Now we want to bring these programmes to communities where these are needed most: young people seeing no future, farmers who are desperate, local politicians who are polarised. We cannot do this ourselves...but we know people who can: the millions of trainers, facilitators and coaches around the world who are keen to contribute to a green and just transformation.

Now we want to bring these programmes to communities where these are needed most: young people seeing no future, farmers who are desperate, local politicians who are polarised. We cannot do this ourselves...but we know people who can: the millions of trainers, facilitators and coaches around the world who are keen to contribute to a green and just transformation.
To date we made good progress already:
- We are partnering with UNDP to pilot a programme in the context of their Conscious Food Systems Alliance. The programme will be initially for UNDP teams and as a second step for local stakeholders including farmers in the Global South.
- We are partnering with the Inner Development Goals and are piloting our programme to 100 leaders and facilitators from 6 countries: Albania, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Rwanda and Zambia.
- We are delivering a pilot programme to 50 mindfulness trainers from around the world and are following up with a train-the-trainer programme in March 2023. Mindfulness trainers are particularly well placed to reconnect people to the natural world and address eco-anxiety.
Most of the core learning content is ready so funding will go to scale these efforts. Specifically:
- Adjust content to local needs: translate programmes and content to local languages, starting with German, French and Spanish, allowing us to build up a strong basis in Europe, Latin America and Africa and adapt content to local cultures and needs.
- Develop a trainer pool: recruit and train facilitators, trainers, coaches and change makers so that they are comfortable delivering them to their communities;
- Invest in our core team: hire communication and social media staff to engage with the trainer community around the world and strengthen our core team to further develop alliances with partner organisations: EU, UNDP and a range of organisations for facilitators (eg. mindfulness and coaching federations).
