Rivogy - Mit Rückenwind in die Zukunft

Enactus Leibniz Universität Hannover e.V.
A project from Enactus Leibniz Universität Hannover e.V. in Hannover, Germany

About this project

Patrick Noah Müller from Enactus Leibniz Universität Hannover e.V. is responsible for this project
The problem
In times of increasing demand for electricity and full electrification in industrialized countries, the majority of the population in developing countries has no access to electricity. Madagascar is one of the countries with the lowest level of electrification - worldwide. Another problem area is the predominant use of fossil fuels and the associated environmental pollution and deforestation. 70% of electricity is generated from non-sustainable fuels such as oil and natural gas.

situation on site
In Madagascar, two thirds of the population live in rural areas. Almost 96% of residents there have no regular access to electricity. Their needs are covered almost exclusively and irregularly by diesel generators. With our project Rivogy, we, students at Leibniz Universität Hannover, want to counteract exactly these problems.

Our project
Our team, consisting of motivated students from numerous courses, is building a solution to this problem: a self-made wind turbine. With this we want to use the high wind potential in Madagascar to electrify public facilities and rural areas. We use natural, locally available resources and train the population in independent maintenance and operation. Our second prototype will be completed in 2023 and is expected to take care of the first people in Madagascar in 2024. For further improvement, we as an association are primarily dependent on donations, which we need for the material and workshop costs of the prototype.
