Thabo: our future now e.V.

We are very happy that we were able to found the association Thabo: our future now e.V.. The purpose of our association is to promote education for children and young people in Kenya.

Currently, we support the St Clare Children's Home in Kisumu, Kenya. Together with our supporters, donors, and sponsors, we believe in the power of education and want to give as many children as possible the chance to go to school.

To achieve this, we rely on a combination of basic school education through school sponsorships, the design of sustainable educational infrastructure, and the promotion of social and vocational skills.

How can you support us?

Current projects and needs

Our school bus: With our past work we were able to provide the children's home with a Nissan Urvan, which could reliably transport the children for a long time. Unfortunately, the school bus was stolen and the mobility of the children is immensely limited as a result. With your help, we want to overcome this situation and get a new bus.

Our sponsorships: For one school year, a child in Kisumu needs about 400 Euros. This money pays the school fees including food, all school materials, and school uniforms. We want to enable as many children as possible to receive a good education through sponsorships.

Digital infrastructure: The Corona pandemic and global digitalization have shown us how important a reliable digital education infrastructure is. Therefore, we want to equip local children with computers, digital media, and fast internet. In this way, children learn important skills for the digital working environment and gain access to digital information sources.

Sustainable Christmas gifts: This year we are not looking for plastic toys, but for sustainable gifts for the project: e.g. farm animals and fruit trees for agricultural education.

General support in everyday school life: In general, we also support the project with small things that are necessary for a successful everyday school life: Writing materials, books, exercise books, note pads, play and sports equipment, and much more. In addition, we have already improved the local infrastructure and created places for the children to learn outside of school: for example, a henhouse, a cow shed, and a water reservoir.
