About this project
Since end of February 2022, OneUkraine has been evacuating 11500+ refugees from the war-torn areas of Ukraine. We focus on women, children and people with special needs. In addition to bus evacuations, we have been partnering with several local NGOs and initiatives to evacuate people with special needs, amongst them children suffering from various forms of cancer, whose treatment could not be continued in Ukraine due to lack of medical care.
At the moment, we are running up to four buses per week Lviv to Vienna, Austria. Refugees are given immediate care there and those, who choose to continue their journey - for example to Germany - are getting assistance with onward transport. Partner organisations regularly send buses from areas near to the frontlines, and those fleeing the war can wait in our secure shelter until the next evacuation bus departure.
Some of our buses with vulnerable individuals go to Italy and Germany, where specialized treatment facilities are available. Single cases - for example those who cannot sit or walk or are situated in hard-to-reach areas with limited or no transportation - are evacuated with the help of partner initiatives.
In light of the continuing war, we need your help! We urgently need funding to continue evacuating those who lost their homes and livelyhoods. The evacuation of one person costs approximately 68 EUR. We evacuate between 100-200 people per week. Every donation counts, no matter how small! Help us to continue making a difference and save lives.
