    About this project

Petra W. from Lebensbrücke International Deutschland gGmbH is responsible for this project
Vlad from Saransk, Russia, needed our help before, in 2015. At the time, he was a 17-year-old aspiring athlete suffering from bone cancer. Thanks to the overwhelming support of many donors, Vlad was successfully treated in Germany. He came to Munich every year for aftercare until 2020. At that time, the pandemic hit and made traveling more difficult.

But usually, after being cancer-free for five years, one is considered to be completely cured. Vlad and his family were relieved and focused on his future.

Things were also going well in Vlad's private life: Now 24 years old, he studied computer science and got his first job as a programmer at the end of 2021. He was finally standing on his own two feet, he was finally earning his own money and was self-employed.

Then suddenly in March 2022, Vlad felt severe pain in the groin. The doctors discovered a malignant tumor on the ilium and metastases in the liver - the cancer was back!

Vlad and his family are in deep despair. Vlad himself is at the end of his strength.

The tragedy is that Vlad is sick because he grew up in an area where radioactive waste was buried. His hometown of Saransk is still contaminated by the radiation.

Vlad immediately went to Moscow for treatment. He was able to start chemotherapy here, but after only two rounds the necessary medication could no longer be obtained.

Now Vlad's only hope is treatment in Germany. That's why his mother Elena contacted us again. Everything had to happen very quickly: In July 2022 Vlad started radiation therapy in a hospital in Rosenheim near Munich. Vlad's family can barely manage to finance it.

After that, however, the vital chemotherapy must be carried out immediately. And this is impossible for Vlad's family. They have already sold everything they owned.

Vlad is in the middle of life, he wants to fight. But he cannot afford the life-saving cancer therapy, which costs about 20-30 thousand euros - money that the family just does not have. About 6 thousand Euros would make a difference and would mean a start. It would mean, that Vlad can start the life-saving chemotherapy.

Please support "our" Vlad from Saransk in Russia today. Every Euro, every donation, no matter how small, helps. Vlad has won the battle against cancer before. He will do it a second time too. Thank you so much!
