Enlight children's eyes in our project AHLE-Honduras with solar energy !

Why we do what we do:
 
In a poor country like Honduras, young people, but especially children, often feel the consequences of poverty the most. They not only lack food and money, but above all they lack future prospects for a better life and an escape from poverty. Many of them end up in criminal youth gangs - the frequent consequence: a death far too early.
 
Here's what we're doing about it:
 
In 1993, Alexander Valentin founded "Acción Humana" - a non-profit foundation with the goal of supporting young needy people in difficult situations in Honduras, showing them new perspectives in their lives and thus permanently breaking the cycle of poverty.
 
We have already achieved this:
 
Our main project is Acción Humana de la Luz Eterna (AHLE) in Honduras, which has since grown into an independent children's village. Since 1998, we have been committed to this children's project, which provides young people with holistic educational opportunities within a variety of areas: in addition to a school education, they are offered further education, a scholarship program for girls, opportunities for cultural education and psychological support, among other things.   
 
"Independent, but not alone" is our motto. In the Children's Village, the children learn to become increasingly independent and thus create better conditions for their own future. In other words: We offer help for self-help. However, we are also dependent on the support of donors. Any administrative costs are borne by our foundation founder Alexander Valentin, so 100% of every donation goes to the project.

What you can do:
 
Our current need is to install more solar panels on our roofs to provide our project with. Our Project AHLE already generates 50% of the required electricity itself thanks to funding from helpAlliance of the Lufthansa Group and also the generous donations of our supporters in 2020. The goal, however, is 100% - and thus independence from the expensive and failure-prone public power supply.
 
The reliable supply of renewable energy brings many advantages: For example, it allows us to expand our agricultural program and thus create more food security and independence. After all, we want to produce 90% of our own food needs in the long term. Or we can train young people in our car repair shop and welding shop, thus increasing the chances of finding a good job.
