More than a thousand people on the move are still trapped on the island of Lesvos. Since the burning of Camp Moria, the Greek island has almost disappeared from public perception - but people are still held here in prison-like conditions for months and years. With our community center, we want to give back a little hope and bring people & organizations together.
Paréa Lesvos provides a safe space for refugees and is a home for 11 other organizations. The center is located in close proximity to the camp in Kara Tepe, Lesvos and is visited daily by camp residents. It offers space to stay in a positive & safe environment, including free drinks and lunch. Here, people have the opportunity to take advantage of offers from a wide variety of organizations. These include:

- Medical Volunteers International, Boat Refugee Foundation and InterSOS offer psychosocial support for men, women and children.
- Makerspace Lesvos give handicraft lessons and provide a repair service for cell phones and bicycles.
- ReFocus MediaLabs teaches photography and film & produces documentaries.
- Doro Blanke provides language classes & legal advice.
- Wave of Hope teaches a wide range of languages as a community school
- Radio Helsinki offers refugees the opportunity to talk about their experiences and educates about the situation on Lesbos.
- Yoga & Sports offers a wide range of sports activities, taught by refugees themselves.
- Sporos runs a garden and permaculture at the center, growing vegetables.
- LeaveNoOneBehind runs a free store and washing machines in the center to cover these basic needs.
The center is run by our team of permanent staff & many volunteers from all over the world. We depend on your donation to keep the center running. Every little bit helps. Together we are creating a community of solidarity of organizations and people on the move on Lesvos.
