Become a Part of the SRe22 High-Voltage-Battery

Passion, friendship, joy and living dreams - that is what defines Schanzer Racing Electric e.V.. We are a non-profit student association whose goal it is to successfully participate in the annual Formula Student racing events in different countries with an electrically powered race car. At the events, we compete against the best teams from all around the world in several static and dynamic disciplines. 

This season we have qualified for 6 events, among others FS Germany at Hockenheim Ring and FS Alpe Adria in Novi Marof.

In order to be able to drive electrically, we need our heart, the battery of the SRe22. It is a high-voltage battery developed in-house for our purposes, which provides the necessary power.

720 single cells with a single capacity of 3000mAh are welded together in parallel by means of nickel islands to 5 cells each. Of these 5-packs, 24 parts are then connected in series in a stack. Six of these stacks are eventually installed in the finished battery.

This arrangement allows us to achieve the 600V maximum voltage specified in the regulations - even with an enormous weight loss compared to the battery of the SRe20.
