SUCHt & WENDEPUNKT e.V.
A project from SUCHt & WENDEPUNKT e.V. in Hamburg, Germany
Children's books help to address and understand problems in families. Children need access to these books to find words for what is bothering them. They get that in our children's library!

About this project

Katharina B. from SUCHt & WENDEPUNKT e.V. is responsible for this project
There are many great children's books that allow children to dive into other worlds, learn about the world, about their feelings - or even about mental illness or addiction of their parents. Unfortunately, most children do not have access to these books.
We want to change this by creating a small library of children's books. These will cover various topics relevant to children of addicts, e.g. separation of parents, patchwork families, dealing with feelings, identity, bullying, violence, self-confidence, addiction, depression, FASD, and many more.
Children and families can borrow books for a deposit. And the staff of the association who visit and accompany families at home can take suitable books with them and use them in their work. Books are also taken to the weekend camps and read independently or read aloud by adults in a relaxed atmosphere.
