Wheelchairs for Lucky and Sinenhlanhla at Löwenmut Children's Hospice

A project from IFB-Stiftung
in Klipriver, South Africa

We are lacking two electric wheelchairs so that Lucky and Sinenhlanhla (the girl in the picture) can move around the hospice independently and explore their surroundings. Help our children to explore the beauty of their home.

About this project

The Löwenmut Children's Hospice is an initiative of the IFB Foundation and is located in Klipriver, near Johannesburg. Currently, 42 children with severe disabilities or life-shortening illnesses live here and are lovingly cared for, supported and nurtured. Many of the children cannot walk under their own power and are dependent on a wheelchair. Currently, we are lacking two electric wheelchairs so that Lucky and Sinenhlanhla (the girl in the picture) can move around the hospice independently and explore their surroundings. The wheelchairs have to be purchased in South Africa, because transporting them from Germany to Johannesburg would be very expensive.

Help our children to explore the beauty of the attached farm and their own little garden or just to be able to go on a discovery tour.

The IFB Foundation has been working for and with people with disabilities for almost 60 years and brings the knowledge it has gained to its work in South Africa. In many places in South Africa, disabilities are still considered a stigma. The children often experience no support and no loving attention. A change is necessary here, because this is the only way to improve the situation of the children! By the way, our house is open to everyone, especially to other home and hospice directors, who would like to learn more about our work.
