Support für Refugees of Color aus der Ukraine in Potsdam / Brandenburg

Dear activists, dear supporters,

the housing and financial situation for people who have fled the war in Ukraine but don’t have the Ukrainian citizenship is currently particularly difficult. It is often uncertain on what basis they can apply for a residence permit and related social benefits.
We are committed to providing good and safe housing in private rooms for all PoC refugees without Ukrainian passports who arrive in Potsdam. Thank you for all feedback and offers!

Unfortunately, applying for a suitable residence permit and receiving social benefits will take a few more weeks. Due to the precarious situation of refugees from so-called "third countries", we are preparing for long waiting and negotiation times with the social welfare office and the foreigners authority. Our demand remains that all refugees are entitled to social benefits, as well as unconditional freedom of residence and movement!

Nevertheless, in the coming weeks there will be costs for the translation of documents, legal representation and above all the basic needs of the refugees (such as hygiene products and food). To be at least a little more financially independent from strictly rationed and for PoC refugees less accessible fundraising is an important cornerstone of self-determination.

That is why we are asking you for donations. You know the drill - every euro counts. It not only allows individuals a little more autonomy, but also supports political work!
