About this project

#education By supporting and accompanying young African students and PhD students at African universities, perspectives are created in the form of the most sustainable support of all: Education!
#empowerment There is an incredible amount of potential in Africa that is just waiting to be awakened. For this, it needs its own role models who carry hope. We want to help empower such changemakers and offer them a platform to inspire others as well.
#ecofriendliness Research and business only have a future if they reflect and build on the existential relationship between humanity and the environment. Therefore, we only support projects that aim to achieve energy transition, climate change adaptation or mitigation.

Project CMR-0013
Empowerment Campaign for Female Students in the Energy/Environmental Sector in Cameroon
We associate empowerment also with the inspiration of women for new academic and professional fields. We want to encourage young women in Cameroon to believe in themselves and being able to make self-determined decisions for their future.

Our cameroonian partner organization FOOTPRINT and its founder and president Elisabeth Mbeng have been campaigning for environmental and climate protection for several years through media-effective dialogues and workshops. We will carry out the empowerment campaign together:
Conferences will be organized at 2 universities in central and western Cameroon, at which women working in science and committed to sustainability will present themselves. The goal is to thus interest the schoolgirls in the respective fields of study and to inspire the female university students for environmental and climate protection. Personal keynote speeches by local female entrepreneurs are also intended to spark motivation towards sustainable entrepreneurship and a self-determined future.
In order to reach as many young cameroonian females as possible, short interviews will additionally be recorded for TV and radio. Here female students and professionals will be interviewed by schoolgirls about their motivation and their enthusiasm for science, technology and the environment. These short video and audio formats are easy to broadcast and share so that a maximum number of cameroonian females can be reached. For we are sure that even these small insights will have a tremendous effect.
