The war in Ukraine has faced us with a completely new situation. Since the end of World War II, Europe has not seen such a threat.
The international media report on what is happening in our immediate European neighborhood continuously. The images of war disturb and unite recipients in dismay and compassion. Solidarity actions and peace demonstrations are taking place all over the world. In addition, there is great interest among the populations in relief and fundraising organizations for the needy people in Ukraine and refugees in neighboring countries.
“We are all deeply saddened by the human suffering and devastation this war has caused in just one week. Now we want to enable everyone to do something for the people affected in Ukraine and for the many refugees. ZF helps!” says Sabine Jaskula, Chairwoman of the Board of ZF hilft e.V.
“Facing this catastrophe, we are experiencing a new form of solidarity in Europe. We stand together and help across borders, cultures and languages. Everyone can contribute, everyone can help. Therefore, I ask all colleagues at ZF to help the people in Ukraine in this emergency. Every donation counts.” (Achim Dietrich, Deputy Chairman of the Board ZF hilft e.V.)
With your donations, we will support an inner-German transport of refugee Ukrainian women to Saarland, including first aid, medical and psychological care, supply kits and accommodation.
Furthermore, together with our project partner, the YOU Foundation, we will support around 5,000 children, mothers and the elderly who have fled from the Ukraine to Moldova:
1. Care for small children: such as baby food, diapers, baby oil and much more.
2. Daily necessities: such as clothing, blankets, drugstore items, newspapers, prepaid telephone cards and Internet access, textbooks and school materials and much more.
3. Personal hygiene: such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, sanitary napkins, and much more.
4. Accommodations
We also support relief efforts in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia for people who had to flee the war in Ukraine. The supported aid projects are part of the overall project "Nothilfe Ukraine" by Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
