    About this project

Jan Veddeler from Learning Lions is responsible for this project
    Background

    • There are currently 2.3 billion children on earth of which 263 million do not have access to education
    • Poverty is the greatest barrier for education
    • Girls are especially disadvantaged in the Sub Sahara region, Middle East and South Asia.
    • Girls are multiplicators – Girls and young adults that receive education are less likely to marry young. On average their children have a higher education

    What are we doing?

    Target group:

Young adults in Kenya that are interested in IT and that have successfully finished the programming academy or are about to, but that have difficulties finding an IT-related job.

    Project goals :

Support underprivileged minorities by building trust and self-confidence through education in order to help them find a job.

    Project execution:

    • Mentoring young adults on topics regarding their professional and private life
    • Regular online-meetings with Kenyan students and young adults
    • Providing them mobile internet for online meetups
    • Host workshops and keynotes in order to teach soft skills and inspire young underprivileged adults for a career in IT
