Girls Summer Academy Berlin - Scholarship for one girl from Morocco

The goal of this funding is to provide a scholarship for a girl from Morocco to attend the 2022 Summer Academy program in Berlin - including airfare, accommodations, and one week of summer academy with 30 other girls ages 13-17 in Berlin. The academy will take place from July 7-14, 2024. 

In Morocco, girls (especially in rural areas) rarely learn to imagine or dream of a career for themselves. Furthermore, there are very few role models of women who dare to go their own way. In many professions there are almost only men and so the girls also lack the imagination that a woman can also become a doctor or a lawyer.

What does the program include?
Through team-building activities in the forests around Berlin to skill-building exercises at some of the city’s most vibrant corporate and creative spaces, the Girls Gearing Up program equips teenage girls with the confidence and skills they need to think critically, follow their dreams, and be the change they want to see in the world.

We connect girls with powerful female mentors from across a vast landscape of industries, because we believe you have to see it to be it. But we also believe that strength comes from sisterhood and, by giving girls the opportunity to make lifelong friends from around the globe, we’re not only giving them the chance to speak about their own concerns but to listen to each other and boost each other up.
