About this project

UBU e.V. gradually builds up a support network in Germany for the benefit of disabled people in Uganda.
Together with our partner organisation "Disability sign World" (DSW - www.dishabilitysignworld.org), we want to make a contribution to ensuring that people/children with disabilities in Uganda also have the right to promotion, support and self-determination.
The reality of life is different, especially in rural areas:
No health insurance, no money for doctor's visits or medical treatment, if there are any doctors at all.
A birth-related deformity of the feet, which is immediately treated in our early intervention programme, has to be accepted there and shapes the whole life of a person - exclusion from school and education, often also exclusion from village structures, no state welfare - often only a poor "begging for survival" remains as a life perspective.
Our local partner (DSW) accompanies, promotes and supports the people with disabilities on the basis of a personal assistance and rehabilitation plan, which is renewed annually.
We, UBU e.V., take over the necessary care costs, emergency aid.
For any larger support needs, we launch separate fundraising campaigns, including those on this platform.
UBU e.V. is financed exclusively by membership fees and donations. The available funds are given 1:1 to our partner organisation.
In the long run, we are looking for 300-500 people who want to support our initiative with monthly donations of 5€ to 50€. Of course, all donors will receive a yearly receipt for the donations they have made.
