We need your support for the choreographic development of "Alpine Symphony" for a large-scale dance project with pupils from the Bürgermeister-Schütte Middle School in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Our project
The work of ExisTanz is based on artistic excellence and innovation. We know from experience that by working to the highest artistic level we can offer the participants in our projects the best opportunity to grow with these challenges and to unleash their full potential. Extensive choreographic development is an indispensable step in this process. In order to be able to adequately pay for the intensive planning and preparation of our dance artists, we need your support!
The choreographic development "Alpine Symphony" bridges professional dance practice and participatory work. The result of the choreographic development provides the basis for the delivery of our community dance project in collaboration between the Richard-Strauss-Tage 2022, the Kiwanis Club Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Bürgermeister-Schütte-Mittelschule, Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Our approach
Our approach to the choreographic development is guided by the innovative approach of Dance United, a pioneering British dance development organisation with a focus on empowerment and inclusion of marginalised populations. In realising their core objective of high artistic standards and excellence in the work with non-trained dancers, the organisation developed guiding principles for the choreographic and dramaturgical development process. These principles will guide our working process in choreographic development.
"Die Alpensinfonie" by Richard Strauss serves as the musical starting point and basis for the choreographic development. For our research process we use both the musical work as well as the natural surroundings of the Werdenfelser Land as artistic impulses. Based on this, we develop central movement themes and choreographic structures that are brought together in an overall dramaturgy. Special attention is paid to the accessibility of the choreographic material for young amateur dancers. The resulting overall artistic concept also includes costumes as well as lighting and stage design and is what makes the work of the highest artistic standard possible in the first place.
How you can support us!
The choreographic development includes a total of 125 working hours for three highly qualified and experienced dance artists. Your support makes it possible for this work to be appropriately rewarded.
