About this project

B. Schilling from Konvoi der Hoffnung Oberhausen-Rheinhausen eV is responsible for this project
We are currently setting up wheelchairs and other things to help in Kosova.

Too many valuable assets are being scrapped in Germany. We collect these, clean and repair them and take them to people in need. Because there are numerous countries without (adequate) health insurance, but there are people with physical disabilities everywhere.

There are many reasons for the loss or restricted movement of a body part. But the consequences are particularly dramatic when the other people are also poor.

We run a repair workshop for wheelchairs and other walking aids in Karlsruhe. Full-time and voluntary employees take care of the repair and examination of all donations in kind. Then it goes by truck and ship to all possible regions of the world.

With about 8 deliveries per year, around 4,000 disabled people receive a ray of hope in their lives, can participate in their social environment or even work again for a better livelihood.

Sick and disabled people in our region who need aids quickly and unbureaucratically - including care beds - are given these until they are covered by the health insurance company.

The project was launched exactly 24 years ago and has increased year after year. A total of more than 100,000 disabled people have got new mobility and more human dignity meanwhile. What originally began with a handful of retirees working on a voluntary basis - only on several days a month - has developed into an ongoing project with a permanent workforce of all ages and the goal of helping even more people in recent years. But in addition to donations in kind and manpower, the project also needs money.

All amounts, no matter small or large, help in this task.
