Environmental protection can only succeed together. In our new environmental education centre, we want to reach out to the general public and discuss ways of environmentally friendly practices together, while at the same time preserving centuries-old knowledge and bringing it back to life. On a 4-hectare plot of land in Nyakrom in the central region of Ghana, we have now laid the foundation for an environmental centre where we will plant herbs as well as rare indigenous medicinal tree species (e.g. Mahogany, Iroko, Liimba, Sapelli) and try out different cultivation techniques and circulation systems (e.g. Permaculture). Among all the trees and plants, we will hopefully hear the buzzing of bees and attract butterflies and other insects. The environmental centre is to become a place of exchange.
