Joint Efforts for Youth Uganda (JOY-Uganda)

About us

JOY-Uganda was initiated by a group of indigenous female youth in the year 2008, after witnessing the suffering that children women and fellow youth (especially females) in the area were undergoing due to poverty, ignorance and gender imbalances. The organization first registered as a Community Based Organisation and is currently registered with the National NGO Board, as a local NGO. REg. No. 10709. We envision healthier and empowered young persons and women. Our philosophy: Better girls; Better women. We an aim of creating a better World for children, women and youth through implementation of a number of sustainable programs. The organization has a five-member Board of Directors (BOD) who plan and supervisor the programmes implemented the secretariat headed by the Executive Director . We also work with a team of volunteers.

Strategic Goal: To contribute to improved healthcare services and sustainable livelihoods among vulnerable young persons and women.

Strategic objectives
• To promote access to healthcare services among vulnerable young persons and women.
• To promote livelihood among vulnerable young persons and women.
• To promote the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children in our area of operation.
• To lobby and advocate for rights of young persons and women in our operational area

Donations that cannot be used for the project

Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.

Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes
