link the hidden treasure is a net work of young women self help groups that build capacities, empower ,llink and improve livelihoods of young women to actively participate in development. young women in the slums are pushed by poverty to engage in illicit business like commercial sex work, small arms and drugs trafficking and selling of illicit brew.This has seen young women being killed in the name of criminals, others dying of HIV/AIDSand living behind their children others as young as 12years old bearing children
Link the hidden treasurehas reformed 30 of them trained them on enterprenuership skills therefore intend to construct a youth centre that will bring together young women from the slums both those who are talented and those who wish to learn by transfering skills,practice, develop and expose their talents in creative arts like bead work , tailoring , mat making and basket making,bags making from waste materialsand recycle hair additions.
The project will keep the girls and young women from slums busy and therefore live a meaningful and positive life.In the centre different activities including awareness creation on HIV /AIDS, their rights will be adressed. Role models will be developed therefore reduce crime in the slumsand improve the liveelihoodss of youg women and children in the slums.
