About us
Kinderherzen wollen leben e.V. is a non-profit organization founded by parents of children who have undergone heart surgery. The association is dedicated to supporting children with heart disease.
The organization particularly supports the Pediatric Heart Center at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), Campus Kiel, which provides medical care for children with heart disease from across Northern Germany.
Through financial and in-kind donations, the association promotes medical care, research, equipment, as well as care and follow-up support for affected children and their families. The organization’s work is largely voluntary, ensuring that a major portion of donated funds is used directly for its charitable purposes. The goal is to sustainably improve the treatment and quality of life of children with heart disease in Northern Germany.
