About us
The Kulturstiftung Mylau (a cultural foundation) and its operating unit, kosmoprovinsk gUG, are committed to preserving, revitalizing, and developing the cultural heritage of Mylau in the Vogtland region in a contemporary way. Our goal is to combine history, education, culture, and civic engagement—for all generations.
Mylau looks back on centuries of history: with a medieval castle, church, the world's largest brick bridge, the Göltzschtalbrücke, and a strong regional identity.
At the same time, Mylau – like many smaller towns in Germany – faces major challenges due to demographic change, structural changes, and dwindling public funds.
We initiate and support projects that:
- promote cultural education
- revitalize public spaces and make them accessible to all
- strengthen volunteerism
- involve children, young people, families, and seniors alike
- make regional identity and cohesion visible and tangible.
A special focus is placed on open, low-threshold projects in public spaces.
