Trees for Uganda

managed by Thomas Okumu

About us

Trees for Uganda is a community-driven environmental restoration and livelihood improvement initiative designed to empower Ugandan households through tree planting, agroforestry, and community gardens. The project seeks to restore degraded landscapes, increase household resilience, and improve food security using sustainable, climate-smart, and locally adapted practices.

The initiative works with communities, schools, youth groups, women’s cooperatives, and farmers to promote the planting, nurturing, and long-term management of fruit trees, indigenous trees, and multipurpose agroforestry species. By combining ecological restoration with economic empowerment, Trees for Uganda addresses environmental degradation while creating income-generating opportunities for vulnerable populations.
