About us
Learning with Joy
We, the Montessori Fördergemeinschaft Darmstadt e.V., are the supporting organization of the state-recognized Independent Montessori School Darmstadt, a primary and integrated secondary school serving around 160 students from grades 1 to 10.
Our school stands for self-directed, holistic, and respectful learning based on Montessori principles. Each child learns at their own pace and follows their interests, preserving the joy of discovery. In mixed-age groups, children and adolescents learn with and from one another – with and without disabilities, with different talents and backgrounds. At our school, diversity is experienced as a strength.
Our goal is to support children and young people on their path toward becoming self-confident, responsible, and empathetic individuals who find their place in the world and actively help shape it.
The school is funded through parental contributions, state support, and significant volunteer engagement. For special projects and investments, however, we rely on donations to further enrich and develop our learning environment.
