About us
The Bundesverband der Wildtierhilfen brings together wildlife rescuers from various fields (wildlife rescue centers, advice centers, veterinary medicine, science) and represents their interests in politics and society. Every year, thousands of wild animals, including birds, squirrels, hedgehogs, dormice, and ducks, are brought to wildlife rescue centers. The finders, as well as the fire department and police, are grateful for the help given to these animals. Ninety-five percent of this help is provided on a voluntary basis, without public financial support. Wildlife care requires special knowledge, time, and financial resources. We are creating a network of veterinarians, carers, and other centers. We also support animal carers in their work by transferring knowledge, arranging contacts, and offering assistance in the form of advice, contacts, or lower purchase prices from important suppliers for the operation of the center.
