About us
The Bonhoeffer House is the former home of the theologian and resistance fighter Dietrich Bonhoeffer an his parents.
This is where he worked on his 'Ethics' and wrote 'After Ten Years'. It was here that he conspired with confidants against the Nazi regime and it was here that he was arrested by the Gestapo on April 5, 1943.
Today, the Bonhoeffer House is a vibrant place on the threshold between church and society - open to all those who want to engage with history, faith and responsible action in the present. The "Bonhoeffer House - Memorial and Place of Encounter" is run by a non-profit association.
We see ourselves as a civil society and church actor that keeps the Protestant culture of remembrance alive at a central historical location and has an impact on social debates. We offer guided tours, educational programs, events, rooms for projects and retreats.
