About us

Sonnenpfoten e.V. is committed to helping dogs in need in Andalusia. From Germany, we support the Spanish shelters Refugio Canino La Reserva and La Huella Roja Almería, as well as our partner organization Miau Almería Canina.

Many dogs are waiting for help—often born on the streets, abandoned, or surrendered. In addition to food and safe shelter, many urgently need medical care or surgery. To provide this, we raise funds.

We also place dogs in loving adoptive homes or foster families in Germany. Some of our foster dogs require surgery and stay in Germany to receive the best possible veterinary treatment.

For dogs who cannot be adopted—for example, due to health issues—we arrange sponsorships to ensure they can live a dignified and safe life.

Our work is entirely voluntary, and every euro goes directly toward the care, medical treatment, and placement of the dogs.
