About us
Cologne meets Ghana e. V. was founded in 2018 to provide both financial and conceptual support for educational projects in Ghana. The association also promotes the partnership between the Republic of Ghana and the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
As of 2025, the association has 20 members, all of whom work on a voluntary basis.
Projects and Activities:
• 2019: Documentary “Hand in Hand – Partnership between the Republic of Ghana and North Rhine-Westphalia”
The film showcases various examples of the partnership established in 2008 between Ghana and North Rhine-Westphalia.
• 2021: School furniture transport to the Ashanti Region
With the support of Engagement Global, the transport of school furniture to a school in Ghana’s Ashanti Region was successfully organized and completed.
• 2026: Construction of teachers’ accommodation in Amenaso
The association plans to begin construction of housing for teachers at the school in Amenaso in 2026, with completion scheduled for 2027.

Liebe Spender,
ich nutze den Besuch beim Deutsch-Afrikanischen Wirtschaftsforum NRW 2026 um Euch kurz über die Situation beim Lehrerhaus zu informieren.
Wir sind beim Kostenvoranschlag und den Anträgen auf der Zielgeraden. Vor Ostern werden wir die Förderung für das Projekt bei Engagement Global beantragen.
Am 3. März war ich zu Gast beim Deutsch-Afrikanischen Wirtschaftsforum in Dortmund. Die Welt ordnet sich neu, globale Gewichte verschieben sich. China stärkt seinen Einfluss in afrikanischen Ländern. Europa ist zunehmend gefordert, seine Interessen auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent nachhaltig und finanzstark zu vertreten. Zugleich nimmt die Bedeutung Afrikas für die Weltwirtschaft zu:

In den Gesprächen, mit Vertretern aus Politik und Wirtschaft, bekam ich für unser Lehrerhaus viel Zustimmung.

Immerhin ging das Trikot vom BVB bei einer Verlosung an einen Ghana Unterstützer aus Köln.
