About us
The Krzysztof Nowak Foundation was established in 2002 by VfL Wolfsburg – in memory of former professional footballer Krzysztof Nowak, who passed away at the age of just 29 from the incurable neurodegenerative disease ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
Since then, the foundation has been committed to supporting people affected by ALS, just like Krzysztof Nowak. As a dependent foundation of Deutsche StiftungsTrust GmbH – a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG – it pursues exclusively charitable purposes.
The foundation’s goal is to provide fast and unbureaucratic support to those affected and their families – for example, through financial assistance for medical aids, accessible housing, or urgently needed therapies. It offers help where care gaps are significant and gives people living with ALS a bit more quality of life in their daily lives.
