CLaSH

About us

The Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia (CLaSH) was founded in 1989 and has become a registered welfare organisation in 1992. Since its inception CLaSH has worked relentlessly towards a better life for some of the disadvantaged members of our society, in particular hearing impaired children. We supply vital services to these children, their families and communities, such as early identification, early intervention, equal opportunities and equal access to health and education.
CLaSH is the only organisation representing and working for children with hearing loss and runs a variety of unique projects: Namibia's only pre-school unit for deaf children; nationwide training activities for parents, social workers, teachers, nurses, etc.; individual assistance, e.g. through the provision of hearing aids; outreach programmes and awareness creation; parental participation and empowerment; support for deaf children in inclusive and special education settings.
