Rukousmekko – the project is dedicated to presenting and exploring the Muslim women’s prayer dress. This special garment combines practicality, tradition, and aesthetics. The prayer dress is designed so that a woman can perform her prayer at any time while preserving modesty, comfort, and beauty. Lightweight fabrics, a loose cut, and ease of wear make it a practical choice for everyday life, as well as a symbol of respect for religious values.
In recent years, the prayer dress has emerged not only as a practical piece of clothing but also as part of modern modest fashion. It shows that religious attire can be elegant and stylish without losing its spiritual meaning.
The aim of the project is to demonstrate that the Rukousmekko serves not only a spiritual purpose but also as a cultural bridge, uniting tradition with contemporary design.
