About us

Khimar Mekko – the project is dedicated to presenting and exploring a special field of Muslim fashion, where the traditional khimar is combined with a modern dress design. This style unites two central ideas: respect for cultural and religious values, and contemporary solutions suitable for everyday European life. The khimar dress provides full coverage, while at the same time remaining elegant and practical, which has earned it recognition both within communities and on the catwalks of modest fashion.

The aim of the project is to show that Khimar Mekko is not only a traditional garment but also part of the global modest fashion movement, where women find a balance between identity, modern style, and personal self-expression. We explore the social significance of this garment, its role in strengthening cultural identity, and its integration into European fashion.
