About us

Background: Cancer is widely recognized as a global public health problem. Breast, prostate, and cervical cancer are among the most frequent types of cancer among men and women in developing countries. Breast, cervical and prostate cancers summed up to over 49.7% of cancer incidence and 42.6% of cancer mortality and the top three cancer incidence and mortality in Cameroon. Early detection and treatment of these top cancer incidence and mortality can reduce cancer morbidity and mortality in Cameroon. Community outreach activities are required to increase knowledge, in addition to screening as preventive efforts for these cancers. The incidence and mortality can be reduced by vaccination of young girls against HPV as well as early detection and treatment of these cancers among the population of Cameroon, but there are key factors associated with low update, screening and treatment of these cancers.
