Stadtkapelle Erlangen e.V.
managed by Kirsten Ritzmann
About us
The Stadtkapelle Erlangen is a symphonic wind orchestra with around 40 members.
Our repertoire ranges from original compositions by important contemporary composers to sophisticated transcriptions of classical and modern literature.
The Stadtkapelle Erlangen was founded in 1935 as the works orchestra of Paul Gossen GmbH and has developed into a top-class orchestra of international standing in the post-war period. Since 1955, it has had the right to bear the coat of arms and name of the city of Erlangen.
When the Gossen company had to give up its business operations in Erlangen in 1993, the city of Erlangen took over the management of the business.
Highlights in the calendar of events are the Christmas concert, the proceeds of which have been donated to Lebenshilfe e.V. for more than 40 years, as well as the spring concert in the Redoutensaal and the castle serenade in Gründlach.
