The Libelle needs you – before one of the few free spaces disappears!
The Libelle is one of the last self-managed spaces near the city center – a place that barely exists anymore in Leipzig. It's not simply a room, but a self-managed home for plenums, encounters, culture and education. For over 20 years, people, groups and initiatives have been meeting here to create a solidary community together. Open, non-commercial, low-threshold. At the beginning of the year we modernized – the outdated electrical system is out, the space is ready for many more years full of projects, meetings and events.
The aftereffects of Corona and unexpectedly high renovation costs pushed us to our limits and we had to take out private loans. Free spaces like the Libelle are becoming fewer and fewer in Leipzig anyway. Rents are rising, alternative places are disappearing. That's why we're asking you to help us out.
