About us
Community H.E.A.R.T. e.V., based in Essen, Germany, was founded in 1996 on the initiative of Denis Goldberg, who worked with Nelson Mandela in South Africa to end apartheid. Throughout his life (1933 - 2020), Denis Goldberg was committed to equal opportunities, health care, violence prevention, education and culture in South Africa and was honoured with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2011. With the help of Community H.E.A.R.T. e.V., women's shelters, science buses, AIDS mobiles, libraries, psychotherapy training and many other social projects have been realised in South Africa.
A particular focus of Community H.E.A.R.T. e.V. is the support of the Kronendal Music Academy (KMA) in Hout Bay/Cape Town, South Africa, which has been opening the door to a better future for disadvantaged children since 2007.
At the KMA, the children not only learn music, but also self-confidence, team spirit, responsibility and resilience - important keys to a successful future.
