About us
The Bildungsnetzwerk China is a non-profit initiative that supports young people in Germany in developing sound and differentiated China-related competencies. In a changing world, we aim to enable students to understand the Chinese-speaking regions as diverse cultural, linguistic, and social spaces and to develop their own informed and reflective perspectives.
Working together with schools, teachers, as well as education ministries and authorities, we promote China-related projects in schools, support China clubs, and strengthen relevant content within regular classroom teaching. Our work is complemented by extracurricular educational programs such as student academies and anti-racism education formats.
The Bildungsnetzwerk China was founded in 2020 on the initiative of the Mercator Foundation and the Goethe-Institut and is supported by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, and the Federal Foreign Office.
