About us

The Bildungsnetzwerk China is a non-profit organization that supports young people in Germany in developing knowledge, language skills, and intercultural competencies related to the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan.

We support schools in establishing new China-related activities, offer professional development opportunities for teachers, and provide teaching materials that enable a nuanced engagement with Chinese-speaking regions. Our extracurricular educational programs likewise create spaces for dialogue and reflection, encourage perspectives beyond Europe, and empower young people to confidently navigate the growing complexity of a changing world.

The Bildungsnetzwerk China was founded in 2020 on the initiative of the Mercator Foundation and the Goethe-Institut and is supported, among others, by the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, and the German Academic Exchange Service (PAD) of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.
