Machbarschaft Borsig11 e.V. – Laboratory for Social Innovation and Creative District Development
Founded in 2011 as a cultural initiative inspired by RUHR.2010 (European Capital of Culture), Machbarschaft Borsig11 e.V. stands for intercultural exchange, participatory processes, and sustainable projects in the immediate surroundings of Dortmund’s Borsigplatz district. As a real-life laboratory for social innovations, we transform social energy into cultural value creation, contributing to the revitalization of public spaces through creative formats and collaborative design.
Our work bridges neighborhood projects with forward-looking concepts for Smart Cities. We rely on digital open-source infrastructures to sustainably address societal challenges in a VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous). Whether through cultural events, co-creation, or innovative IT solutions, we strengthen civil society and foster its resilience.
