About us
Gezubuso Projects is a registered non-profit organization (NPO) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa. “Gezubuso” is isiZulu and means ‘wash your face’, reflecting the spirit of dignity and new vision.
Since our foundation in 2004, we have been committed to helping disadvantaged children and teenagers to give them a safer life and a real perspective for the future. Over time, our programs have adapted to the current needs in KZN. Today, we face major challenges such as drug abuse, many teenage pregnancies, homelessness, child abandonment and a youth unemployment rate of 61%.
Our current programs are:
- Sunshine Homes: Providing orphans and neglected children with a loving and safe home (currently 42 children)
- Education and training
- ABCD program: Psychosocial support for pregnant adolescents and young mothers
- Environmental protection projects
