About us

The St. Johann branch of the German Red Cross is run exclusively by volunteers. We are active in many different areas. We support the community by providing medical care at events and are active in disaster relief. Twice a year, we organize blood donation campaigns and collect used clothing. Our local group offers various first aid courses.
Our specially trained first responders are alerted in emergencies via the emergency number 112 together with the rescue service and are often the first on the scene to take life-saving measures at an early stage. It usually takes 10 to 15 minutes for the rescue service to arrive, sometimes longer in bad weather conditions in the Alb region. In an emergency, this is a long time that can mean the difference between life and death. With well over 100 call-outs per year, our first responders are there when you need them most.
