About us
For more than 18 years, the Löwenhaus, a well-established facility in Harburg's Phoenix neighbourhood, a socially deprived area in the south of Hamburg, has been providing services to children and young people aged six to 14 and older who live on the poverty line and come from socially challenging backgrounds. As a physical contact point, the Löwenhaus offers the often isolated children and young people from the neighbourhood protection and security, which are essential for their development. For many of the children and young people in its care, the Löwenhaus is a place of refuge and retreat away from their often cramped living space. Here they find space for reflection, support in dealing with their experiences and a community that supports them in a targeted manner and thus paves their way to a self-determined future. The Löwenhaus offers help for self-help and provides support ranging from basic needs to individual concerns.
