About us

We are a non-profit customs and Perchten association from the edge of the Bavarian Forest. The association was founded in 2007 and has about 60 active and passive members. Our performers try to breathe life into legends and stories about the legendary Rauhnächte with elaborately hand-carved masks. Every season we bring the Perchten, Krampal and Hexen to life with a new story and try to preserve customs and traditions in the Bavarian Forest. In particular, it is our goal to reach families and especially children with our play and thus take away the fear of the Raunacht figures. In the past, grandmother and grandfather told stories in the cold dark nights for the children at the stove at home, the stories of the Rauhnächte and passed on the customs to the younger generation. Times have changed. But these traditions and customs from the Bavarian forest are worth preserving.
