Arbeitsgemeinschaft Burg Waldeck e.V.

managed by Helge Sponer

About us

The Castle Waldeck Association (ABW) is a non-profit organization and a member of several cultural and social associations. Its goal, shaped by the spirit of the youth movement, is to support people and groups who are looking for intellectual and musical commonalities.
The site serves as a venue for singing and music workshops, conferences, theater workshops and seminars.

Together with the Peter Rohland Foundation, the ABW offers young artists cultural scholarships for projects at Waldeck Castle.

Regular events such as the song festival, the singing competition and the Freakquenz Festival are part of the permanent program.

The ABW is also involved in ecological construction, for example through straw bale and cordwood construction. The first plant-based sewage treatment plant in the Hunsrück was built here in 1998. There are numerous research projects and publications about Waldeck.
