About us
KCECHO - Karatu Cultural Environmental Conservation and Health Organisation Ltd. is a non-commercial and non-governmental organisation (NGO) located in the District of Karatu in the northern Highlands of Tanzania.
This voluntary organisation was established in 2009. Additional to the three directors, there is a various number of volunteers from Tanzania and currently also from Germany.
KCECHO was founded to serve and support the local people in the district. Since its establishment it has implement the following projects:
1) Cultural Tourism Program: showing tourists and visitors other aspects of the country, let them get in contact with the local population and with that, help the people living in Karatu District to share in the receipts of the tourism in Tanzania
2) Environmental Program: educating the local people, especially school children, in environmental conservation issues
3) Health Program: educating people about hygiene, health and HIV/Aids

Donations that cannot be used for the project
Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.
Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes
