About us
We, Hundehilfe-Ukraine e.V., have been committed to helping street animals in western Ukraine and on the border with Belarus since 2010 and in other regions of Ukraine since December 2022. We try to reduce animal suffering by supporting local animal rights activists - both organizations and individuals - and meaningful animal welfare projects.
The focus of our commitment is to raise awareness and mobilize local people for animal welfare (helping them to help themselves) and to assist them by providing political support and donations.
We finance all our activities, aid and support in Ukraine exclusively through donations.
The placement of animals is not the focus for us, more important to us is sustainable animal welfare, for example with educational work and castration campaigns, which is only possible through help and support on the ground.

Der kalte Winter steht bevor und bei den russischen Angriffen steht auch die Energieinfrastruktur unter Beschuss. Ständige Stromausfälle sind an der Tagesordnung und es ist mit einer weiteren Verschlechterung der Lage zu rechnen. Der Kriegswinter ist für Menschen und Tiere in der Ukraine ausgesprochen hart und kräftezehrend. Wir bewundern Alex für sein Durchhaltevermögen - obwohl er selbst oft mit gesundheitlichen Problemen zu kämpfen hat, kümmert er sich immer um hilfsbedürftige Tiere und Menschen.
Die Spendengelder werden diesmal dazu verwendet, die aufgelaufenen Kosten für medizinische Versorgung zu bezahlen. Alex hatte wieder mehrere Notfälle, die dringend versorgt werden mussten und müssen. Auch wenn die Hundehilfe Ukraine vor allem Hilfe vor Ort leistet und sich dafür einsetzt, dass die Tiere in der Ukraine ein Zuhause finden, freuen wir uns dennoch mit Alex, dass er für einige seiner Hunde ein sicheres Zuhause außerhalb der Ukraine finden konnte - darunter auch querschnittsgelähmte Hunde, die auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen sind. Es ist nahezu unmöglich, für solche besonders hilfsbedürftigen Hunde ein Zuhause in der Ukraine zu finden.
Wir stehen weiter in engem Austausch mit Alex. Bitte helft uns, ihn weiterhin so gut es nur geht zu unterstützen. Sowohl finanziell als auch mental. Liked und teilt seine Beiträge auf Facebook, Instagram und Tiktok um ihm mehr Reichweite und Sichtbarkeit zu verschaffen. Er hat es mehr als verdient.

A heartfelt thank you to all donors! You are a blessing in this – quite literally – dark season.
The cold winter is approaching, and with the Russian attacks, the energy infrastructure is also under fire. Constant power outages are the order of the day, and the situation is expected to deteriorate further. The winter of war is extremely hard and exhausting for people and animals in Ukraine. We admire Alex for his perseverance – although he himself often struggles with health problems, he always takes care of animals and people in need.
This time, the donations will be used to pay for the accumulated costs of medical care. Alex has had several emergencies that needed and still need urgent attention. Even though Dog Aid Ukraine primarily provides help on the ground and is committed to finding homes for animals in Ukraine, we are nevertheless delighted for Alex that he has been able to find safe homes outside Ukraine for some of his dogs – including paraplegic dogs that are dependent on wheelchairs. It is almost impossible to find a home in Ukraine for such dogs in particular need of help.
