HISTORY OF FHOPE:
The idea behind FHOPE, first took shape 1994 when Mr. Lutwama – the founder began assisting Orphans whom he stayed with at his home and at the same time inspiring community to practice integrated agro – management as a way of improving living standards.
BACKGOUND AND THE PROBLEM STATEMENT:
The political turmoil which swept across the entire country of Uganda between 1980 – 1990 left a lot of devastations in the infamous Luwero Triangle (an area comprised of four district including Wakiso) for the people of Miggadde, Gombe sub county the scars were great. There were great number of Orphans and Widowed whose care and support were uncertain. As this was insufficient the number of orphans continues to increase due to HIV/AIDS pandemic as well as poor living standards due to extreme poverty. These people didn’t get any formal education during that period and now they are the parents today.I
Considering the results of war like the survivors picking from the ruins, where the majority of them were Orphans and without educational skills for a living a good Samaritan was inevitable in such circumstance, His experience of tasting the pain of parentless living, up bringing and the success so far achieved in his life proved that given opportunity to be alive and with resources at hand, there is a possibility of hope in improving poor lives to better standards of living.
