About us

PFAD is the federal association of foster and adoptive families in Germany. Since 1976, we have been working as a professional association and lobby group for foster and adoptive children and their families.

As an umbrella organization for the PFAD state associations and local groups, we promote a nationwide network of associations of foster and adoptive families and the exchange with other organizations that are committed to the welfare of children.

We take a stand on current developments in youth and family policy, and we are heard in legislative processes. We advocate and support research projects.

The qualification and further development of foster child care and adoption practice are our concerns.
