managed by Isabel Hamm
About us
Our non-profit association "Tumaini - arts for hope e.V." supports the annual music and cultural festival "Tumaini Festival" in Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi. The festival was launched in 2014 by refugees in collaboration with the Malawian population. The aim is to promote cultural exchange and peaceful coexistence between refugees and the Malawian host communities and to create an empowering platform for the artists and residents of the refugee camp.
Tumaini Festival is planned and implemented by "Tumaini Letu", a Malawian non-profit organization. Tumaini Letu was founded in 2012 by Trésor Nzengu Mpauni, a refugee and artist from the DR Congo. "Tumaini - arts for hope e.V." aims to support Tumaini Letu in organizing the Tumaini Festival by collecting donations and to promote other projects for education in the arts in the Dzaleka Refugee Camp.
